The U.K. Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) released its Annual Safety Review 2017.
The UK Airprox Board (UKAB) published their annual report over 2016. UKAB assessed 265 Airprox in 2016, of which 171 were aircraft-to-aircraft encounters and 94 involved drones/small unmanned air systems (SUAS).
Police in the United Kingdom are set to be given powers to prevent the unsafe or criminal use of drones as part of a new package of legislation.
The UK Airprox Board detailed 16 airprox incidents involving aircraft and drones, four of those were considered serious.
