India’s new Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Arun Mishra has ordered a comprehensive safety audit of all Indian carriers.
After his appointment early Auguyst, Mishra said that creating robust surveillance and a strict licensing policy would be the most important starting points.
The safety audit will be carried out during August and September of 2012.
The Times of India reported that the audit is going to examine the entire spectrum of operations. Based on the findings for each operator, DGCA will issue a corrective action list for each airline with a time-bound compliance period.
