New measures taken to reduce runway incursions at Boston-Logan
23 November 2005

Officials at Boston-Logan Airport have announced new safety measures aimed at reducing the risk of runway collisions following a series of recent incidents. The changes include accelerated approval and construction of a taxiway designed to keep planes heading to or from gates from crossing the runways. Other measures include a three-dimensional simulator for the airport; an analysis of the airport’s taxiways to reduce their complexity; and updated pilot maps and charts. (USA Today)
