FAA raises safety rating for Argentina
27 October 2005

The U.S. FAA announced it is raising Argentina`s safety rating to Category 1 following a reassessment of that country`s civil aviation authority. A Category 1 rating means that the Argentine civil aviation authority has been assessed by FAA inspectors and has been found to license and oversee air carriers in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aviation safety standards. Argentina had been in Category 2 since an FAA assessment in July 2002. (FAA)
