FAA raises safety rating for Trinidad and Tobago
11 August 2005

The FAA announced it was raising Trinidad and Tobago’s safety rating to the highest international safety category following a reassessment of that country’s civil aviation authority. As a result of the reassessment, Trinidad and Tobago’s safety rating was raised from Category 2 to Category 1. A Category 1 rating means that Trinidad and Tobago’s civil aviation authority has been assessed by FAA inspectors and has been found to license and oversee air carriers in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aviation safety standards.
