Flight safety inspectors in Greece under scrutiny
25 April 2005

A report compiled by the Greek State Audit Council recommended that most of the country’s civil aviation authority inspectors should return almost 350,000 euros in total from their salaries because they were not properly qualified for their jobs. A probe covering the years 2002, 2003 and 2004 found that the majority of flight safety inspectors employed during this time lacked the necessary qualifications. Investigators said that many of the inspectors were also paid full salaries to work in another department of the CAA. (Kathimerini)
